Staying well

Wellness is like happiness, in fact the two are connected in our minds and spirits! Also, we all seem to want these illusive "things". But the truth is they are both in our grasp. They both require our attention, and that means devoting time to center and be with our true self. They also require a mental shift. One can be terminally ill, mentally ill, physically emotionally, etc...but all dis-ease serves a purpose in our lives-a chance to grow. Start with a good foundation: be kind to your body, try to love yourself, soak up the elements and the seasons as they fluctuate and change. When it comes to food, try whole foods, lots of water and herb teas, liquid nutrients when it comes to minerals, vitamins and things like calcium. When it comes to having a well mind, it can sometimes be achieved by simply remembering to breathe...I mean really breathe! If you don't have time to meditate (or don't want to), it can be as simple as closing your eyes for 30 seconds and picturing yurself in a beautiful peaceful place, or singing in the shower or sketching or writing your thoughts on a scrap of paper. In fact, amy things are meditative, even cooking- it's different for each of us. Above all, don't forget to be greatful for what you have, and to smile.
Wishing you wellness...
